When Tam began work on the rear quarter panels, the true value we received from her previous restoration was revealed. Patch panels had been purchased to repair the snow chain damage suffered in Tacoma. They were to be welded in, ground smooth, and painted. Simple. Right? But maybe they were too lazy that day. They cut the damaged areas out in rough segments, carved up the patch panels, tack welded the pieces together, covered it in fiberglass, and coated in up to 1/4 inch of body filler. As you can see from these photos, the damage incurred was extensive. (I wish I could remember who we contracted to do the bodywork.)
