We rebuilt the engine back in 1989, had the block bored .30 over, new 11/1 pistons, all the trimmings. We honestly believed the engine would be the easiest part of the rebuild. Unfortunately, someone had put a non-stock intake on her, then drilled holes to make the carburator fit, leaving the valve covers open. We found metal filings throughout the block! Now the entire engine must go through a full rebuild. Just look at the damage!
